Michael S. Merrill

Michael attended UC Davis and earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Biological Sciences.  He attended Chapman College to earn his teaching credential and National University to earn his Master of Science in Educational Administration.  Finally, Michael attended the California Association of School Business Officials Mentor Program to become a Certified Business Official.

Michael taught and coached at Lincoln High School in Stockton for 4 years prior to spending 25 years in Calaveras Unified School District as a teacher and coach, Assistant Principal at Calaveras High, Principal at Valley Springs Elementary, Principal at Calaveras High and Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for Calaveras Unified School District.

Michael resides in Angels Camp with his wife Rhonda, an English and History Teacher at Toyon Middle School.  They have two grown children Bryson and Bryn.

Michael always looks forward to being an active part of Tuolumne County schools.  He loves to watch his Bears compete in the classroom, on the courts and fields as well as on the stage.  Nothing makes him more proud than to tell people he is Superintendent of Summerville Union High School District.  A place where education, competition and learning happens every day.  Summerville students are second to none.
