Welcome Back to School

2020 – 2021

Welcome Back to School!

The start of the 2020-2021 school years will be through 100% Distance Learning.  This is a decision that has been arrived at with all Tuolumne County school districts.  The duration of the distance learning will be at least through our Tl reporting period which ends October 2, 2020.

Until our students are able to return to campus, the district will implement the schedule below in an effort to promote attendance in virtual class sessions. Students will meet with teachers for a minimum of 30 minutes each class session. Virtual class sessions will be completed by noon. This will allow teachers flexibility in the afternoon to hold office hours, and it will. Allow students additional time to complete coursework.

A Days Mon/Wed

B Days Tues/Thurs

No classes after 11:55- teachers will have office hours from 1-3pm. Email or Zoom

No classes on Friday. Most work will be due Friday or before.

Students can access their Zoom meetings through their Google Classrooms.

Teachers will hold Office Hours Monday through Thursday where they will be available to support students virtually. Please refer to each teacher’s Google classroom for office hours.

Fridays will be reserved for student work time, teacher communication with parents and students, and additional office hours if needed. Students and parents can expect weekly agendas to be posted on Mondays. Most assignments will be due Friday afternoons.

It is important that students attend all virtual lessons, as interacting with teachers and classmates is an integral part of the learning experience. If your family is struggling with connectivity issues, please contact your student’s GLC for assistance in this matter.

There will likely be further temporary alterations to this schedule if the district transitions to a hybrid learning model. Please remember that when students are able to return to 100% in-person instruction, students will follow an alternating A/B block schedule for the remainder of the year.

We recognize that starting the school year in a distance learning  format  will create many challenges. We are working very hard to make the start of the school year both smooth and successful. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated as we navigate this difficult time. We will continue to communicate with our Bear family as the year begins and we welcome your questions. We are here to help!
